My STPM Journey
Hi, Assalamualaikum !!!
I feel a little bit under the weather. But I still want to express my roller coaster feelings here. It’s currently 3.50 a.m. and sebelum nak prepare sahur, i want to write a little bit about my stpm journey in samt kkb.
Honestly, I never thought of pursuing stpm in the first place because of the stigma that says stpm is the last option for students who fail to get into university. But who knows Allah is the best planner…some might say that stpm is their last choice meanwhile me? It didn’t even on my list !! I never imagine of being a form 6 student. I was hoping for asasi in uitm. But, I didnt get the opportunity to continue my study in foundation.
I got rejected for upu, and that was my dark ages. I felt that I am a failure. I got 7A’s but i got rejected by upu. It hurts me a lot. I called hadirah immediately right after I got rejected by upu. I cried a lot. And hadirah was a stam student in samtkkb, so she suggested stpm for me to pursue for. And ummi and abah also agreed.
I got an offer letter for stpm but its science stream. So, ummi went to ppd, to change my field. Alhamdulillah i got sains sosial agama in samt kkb.
First day which is the registration day, I met my old friends that pursuing the same field as me. I also get to make new friends. I am really grateful for having them as my companions. So while i’m busy in my studies, i got an offer for foundation in arabic in uia. But, i rejected it and i chose stpm as my path.
For stpm, i took pengajian am, bahasa arab, syariah, and sejarah. So let’s delve into each of these subjects. Pengajian Am π€― this is the hardest subject for me. It’s a killer subject. In this paper, it was divided into 3 parts. A, B & C . So for the first semester, there are 15 objective questions, 4 structured questions and 3 essays and we were required to answer 2 essays . The most difficult part is essay for me. If the points are incorrect (not the same as the scheme paper), then our points will TR (irrelevant) π and we tend to lose many marks here. For semester 2, there are 3 parts too, but there are no objective but structured questions, ABK that contains 20 marks and essays. Abk is one of the most rigid part. We have to sketch many kinds of graph to illustrate the given passage. It took a lot of our time too during exam !! Some ppl might took 1 hour to finish it. But alhamdulillah, we get the momentum to finish it in about 30 mins. If we make one mistake, then half of the marks will be HUSHSHSH gone !!. And we have to answer 1 essay out of 3 essays that were given. And Allah’s destiny dictates that I have to repeat this subject for sec sem. And im currently waiting for the result. Pray for aleeya to get an A π For semester 3, there are 3 parts too, but it the same as semester 1 but theres no structured questions. Objective, abk and essays. But in this semester, abk is a bit different, we have to interpret the schedule that were given into passages. But alhamdulillah with the help of our ustazahs, we survived !! Thank you to ustazah asiah and ustazah salinah for not giving up on us π₯Ή❤️
Next, bahasa arab ❤️ alhamdulillah i love bahasa arab since i’m into languages. And ustazah syakirah has opened my eyes and she gave me some space and never giving up on me in bahasa arab. Of course, ngl there are some parts that can be considered as hard/difficult too. For the first semester, we learned the basics of nahu sorof and we need to remember the insyak to answer it calmly during exam. Move on to the sec semester, so nothing really change, but there are one more part added which is balaghah. Its quite hard for me to understand it but alhamdulillah with the help of ustazah syakirah, i was able to understand and answer it well during the test. And for the last semester, π it was hard for me since we have to remember adab nusus (arabic literature). I have to remember many bytesπ₯² but alhamdulillah i manage to remember it and understand it well. It just hard for me since it was my first time learning arabic poetry because i am not a DINI student. And now, im currently waiting for my semester 3 and u2 and the total results, pray for meee π₯Ίπ₯Ί
And move on to the next paper which is syariah π syariah is quite hard for me too, but alhamdulillah i manage to remember it. For the first semester, we learned muamalat, munakahat, mirath and jenayah. For me, for the first time, mirath is the hardest one since i didnt get the momentum yet and i didnt really memorize each section allocated for each family members. But once i get the momentum, alhamdulillah i manage to answer the mirath well..but my first sem result for syariah was quite bad, i got C+ π and i rechecked it and it stays the same. So I repeated it. And alhamdulillah i got an A after i repeated it. Second semester we learned usul fiqh and kaedah fiqh, we have to memorize a lot wehπ but alhamdulillah i manage to memorize all of it since i am interested in this subject. And last semester, we learned hadis ahkam and ayat ahkam. It seems easy but actually it was hard π and im still waiting for my result too π€― thanks a lot to ustazah khatijah and ustaz mohamad for helping me a lot to keep up a good momentum in syariah. hopefully all of the arguments will be accepted π€²π»
Lastly, SEJARAH π«Άπ»ππ» i have a love-hate relationship with sej. For the first semester, we learned sejarah dunia. We have to answer 4 questions out of 6 in 2 hours. It was soooo hard in the first place, but alhamdulillah we did it !! We have to remember world history, which is russia, china, german, britain, netherlands. We learned about maritime and agrarian community in netherlands, china ans japan too. We also need to memorize the contribution of figures such as peter the great, adam smith, otto eduard von bismarck and sun yat sen. And sej was the last paper, and we saw everyone finished their paper while we were still fighting for ours and it really made us burn out. But alhamdulillah we managed to get a good pointer π» for the sec sem, we learned sejarah islam. We need to answer 3 questions out of 6 in 1 hrs 30 mins. We have to memorize each eras such as jahiliah, abbasiyah and umayyah. There were many figures that we have to memorize such as Rasulullah SAW, 4 khalifah al-rasyidin after Rasulullah SAW, imam al ghazali, ibnu sina and rasyid ridha, alhamdulillah i have syerra to read and tell the story for me so i memorized it by listening to syerra’s story ππ» and for the last semester, we learned about sejarah malaysia and asia tenggara. It quite hard since we have to answer two question for each part. Part A (malaysia) and part B (asia tenggara) and for this semeter we use two whiteboards in apd to scribble all the notes to present it and this method works well ππ»ππ» and thank you to ustazah suriani for being there for us (cooked for us π€) whenever we needed u. As ustazah suriani said “lek lek je, jangan stress ii, buat apa nak stress” π₯Ή and alhamdulillah i have a great team in sej (durrat, yani, syerra, fawa and jah !!!) they complete my sej journey and it becomes perfect π
HABIS !!!
One more fact, we can repeat to improve our results. But only for semester 1 and 2. And we don’t get the opportunity to repeat for 3rd semester so we have to push ourselves over the limit @ get out of the comfort zone in order to get an excellent results.
And i would like to thank kpah (‘izwatulalifah bt abdul muin) for being a supportive and the bestfriend throughout my stpm journey (thick and thin). And thank you for helping me to control my emotions and cope with the toxic environment (sometimes) that I have to deal with.
Byebye thank u !!

Wish you all the best my dear ....awak akan dpt result yg terbaik insya Allah....smg cemerlang dunia akhirat
